Mr. Charming . Warrington Family Photographer

I don’t usually make photos this big on here but…oh that face!

This little guy was all charm the entire session. I shouldn’t have been surprised at all though because even as a newborn he was charming. I also found it quite funny that we somehow wound up with the warmest day in December to do our shoot on a Christmas tree farm. What luck! It worked out fine though. I really think you can’t go wrong with a family this gorgeous. :-)

…and in case you missed it, my very favorite from this session. Seriously, can a one year old get any cooler?

The Bubs . The First Three Months

That is what we’ve taken to calling her and I do believe she is starting to think that is her name. Oops!

The past three months have felt both incredibly quick and somehow at the same time, like they’ve gone on forever. It sounds odd, but I keep forgetting that Florence is going to keep getting bigger and learning new things. I get so used to her just being interested in staring at the blinds (this was an early phase) or having to rush through my grocery shopping, afraid that she’ll become inconsolable at any moment, that I’m shocked when suddenly she starts showing interest in the dogs or can be consoled by something other than eating and being held (thank goodness). So far, in terms of big milestones, she’s smiled, rolled over from belly to back, fallen in love with her feet and just tonight, gave a real good laugh for the first time! She likes music and dancing; she loves tummy time and sitting up facing out so that she can look around. She’s a very social girl and will take being out and about over being home any day. She sleeps very well at night but isn’t a big fan of napping…oh, unless I’d like to push her around in her stroller at the park, then she’ll nap thankyouverymuch. In my opinion, she just keeps getting better and better. :-)

In the first three months, I’ve been diligent about doing my monthly photo session with the Bubs, but haven’t been nearly as good about capturing the day to day moments with anything other than my iPhone. I’m going to give myself a new parent pass, but am committed to taking my real camera out and about with us more often.

3 Months!

So, although I haven’t been good about taking ‘real’ photos. I have taken a TON of iPhone photos and lots of them are up on instagram. Follow me, @katie_mcmenamin! Be warned though, try as I might to diversify, my feed remains very baby/dog heavy in content. #iloveinstagram

…how about that passport photo. Kills me. :-)

Sisters . Schwenksville Newborn Photographer

After the maternity session with this family, I could not wait to head back to their farm to meet their newest addition. Sara Grace wins me over every time I have the chance to have her in front of my camera. She’s such a little spit fire. This time she requested to sit on my lap while I photographed the baby and later, mom found her clomping around in my boots when we were all busy in the other room (see her not so guilty face below). Love it!

Little sister Jordyn was already showing her own personality. She was an angel through the whole shoot, putting up with her big sister’s sometimes less than gentle hugs and giving me as many smiles as any newborn I’ve photographed. She also might have been one of the soundest sleeping babies that I’ve ever encountered during her portraits, which was perfect! So very different from Sara Grace, who showed her feisty side even as a newborn.

Always such a treat to spend time with this family.

Such a Little Man . Philadelphia Family Photographer

I have had the pleasure of photographing Mr. N quite a few times now and I can’t get enough of him. He was the sweetest baby and he’s turning into such a sweet little boy. He just got the biggest kick out of running back and forth between mom and dad and the way he walks with his one hand in his pocket like a little man?! Can you even stand it? I still have to share this little guy’s second birthday party. Soon, soon, soon.
