Danielle & John – The Wedding .

_mg_2722.jpg

Danielle and John have come to be two of my most favorite people. The are incredibly genuine and fun and so easy to work with. I would be thrilled to have 100 couples just like them. So I couldn’t have been more pleased to have had three, count ‘em, THREE portrait sessions for them in addition to their wedding. John must really love her, to go through all that, huh?

This first photo is actually from their “day after session” which we did at Lehigh University’s beautiful campus. I will definitely do a whole post of solely those photos, but for now I promised Danielle a few teasers in their wedding post. So there’s one. I shot both the wedding and all the portrait sessions along with Lauri of Lalee Photography, so I’m sure she’ll have up some fabulous photos of this session soon.

Now get ready, cause this post is gonna be a long one! Since Danielle and John are blog readers, I want to make sure I do their day justice. ;-)

When I first showed up to start photographing the getting ready, this is how I found Danielle. Haha. I love it.

Danielle’s mom demanded absolutely no more photos until her makeup was on, so Danielle gave her a little bouquet shield.

I realized when I was going through the photos that I had selected for the blog, that I had A LOT of Danielle laughing. And I don’t mean just little, “hehe” laughs, I mean full on laughs. I think that is a great sign on a wedding day when the bride is relaxed enough to laugh like that.

I don’t know why I like this one, but I do. It looks like she’s making a decree from the bridal throne.

This photo was a special request by Danielle. A few weeks before the wedding, she sent me a scanned in photo of her mom on her wedding day. She said that since she was a little girl, this had been her ideal of bridal beauty, and if it was possible, she would love to have a photo like that of herself on her wedding day. I told her that I’d do my best and this was the result. I hope it lived up to its predecessor. :-)

I love the hustle bustle feel of this one as Danielle rushes down the steps to the ceremony.

Some wedding shots. It was a beautiful ceremony and reception, both held at the adorable and intimate, Centre Bridge Inn, on the water in New Hope.

I love the way John is looking at Danielle here.

The flash didn’t fire for this one, but I like the mood of it anyway.

Haha! this one cracks me up. Check out the guest in the background here.

This couple for sure lit up the dance floor! I suspect that they might have…possibly…taken some dancing lessons. But that’s just a guess.

dj_984_img_1576.jpg
Danielle and John decided not to have their own first dance because the idea of all eyes on them didn’t really thrill them. I hear that. But since both of their parents coincidentally had the same wedding song, they did ask the band to play that. Here are John’s parents. I have to admit that I always get a little teary eyed when I see couples who have been together for years dancing. I think it’s so romantic. :-)

…and the equally adorable parents of Danielle…

I took this shot quick from outside and it is all sorts of technically wrong. But it cracks me up and I sort of love it anyway.

And I’ll end where I started…with a day after session teaser. When we were shooting this session Danielle told John not to look at the pictures on the back of the camera and to wait until we post them because then it’s like Christmas. I love that analogy!

More day after coming soon, soon, soon…

Lindsay & Jack … because we like them :-) .

0004_21.jpg

I have known Lindsay since we lived on the same hall freshman year at Muhlenberg College. I was lucky enough to have an awesome freshman year experience and I’m still friends with so many of the girls on that hall….these girls. :-) We’re all super busy and I miss them a lot, so any excuse to see each other is always welcome.

Lindsay asked Lauri to shoot couple photos for her and Jack after seeing the awesome job that Lauri did for Jason and I. :-) Lindsay and Jack have been dating for several years now and I think they are such a great match. It was lots of fun to watch them being silly together during this shoot. I’m so glad Lauri invited me along.

I think Lindsay looks fierce here. :-)

I love this one. It’s like it’s just them in their special moment. So cute.

Lindsay had a little bit of trouble with this pose…so Lauri and I had to model it for her. Oh yeah. Wish there was a photo of that! Anyway, in the end, I think she pulled it off like a pro.

Lauri workin’ it…

Such a happy couple.

Definitely check out Lauri’s photos of Lindz and Jack too. She absolutely ROCKED this session. :-)

4th of July at the Lake .

I have been friends with Amy since my Junior year of high school and I have known her since middle school. We bonded in 11th grade over our mutual hatred for our math teacher…my hatred in particular. :-) And as long as we’ve been friends, I’ve always been invited to her family’s picnics at the lake for memorial day, 4th of July and Labor day. I go as often as I can because really her family has become like my second family over the years, and I love them.

_mg_1864.jpg
Plus, isn’t it just gorgeous there?

_mg_1854.jpg
This is Amy’s nephew, Baby Gary, the star of the family. :-)

_mg_1857.jpg
Amy’s mom…we all know where Amy gets her laugh. hehe.

_mg_1887.jpg

_mg_1891.jpg
Brianna is 10 now and I remember when she was a newborn just home from the hospital. Insane! Makes me feel so old!

_mg_1895.jpg
Jason enjoyed the lake with me this year too. :-)

_mg_1900.jpg
A storm came in and everyone worked together to get everything cleaned up before taking cover in the trailer and under the awnings.

_mg_1948.jpg
There was a little slip and slide action for Baby Gary in the rain.

_mg_1967.jpg
Amy’s grandmother.

_mg_1969.jpg
And of course…some fireworks. Although, they were a little close for comfort. :-)

All in all, the picnic was super fun and we can’t wait for the next one.

Sharon & Robbie: Engagement .

HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!! I just got back from second shooting a 14 hour Jewish / Indian wedding, and I have to say that it was pretty much awesome and also that I am insanely tired. So if this post is completely incoherent, forgive me! :-) I wanted to get up a few photos though before I crash for the day…cause they’re sitting here ready to go.

_mg_0054.jpg

A few weeks ago I had an awesome engagement session with Robbie and Sharon in Washington D.C. I loved getting the opportunity to explore a new city…PLUS Sharon and Robbie had planned out all these cute little activities for us to capture. We started out on the super fast carousel. Maybe it just felt fast because I wasn’t on a horse and was going backwards…but I seriously felt like I might fly off, which would have been a bad way to start off. Thankfully, it didn’t come to that. :-)

Then we played a little Scrabble.

_mg_0237bw.jpg
This recreated what have been a super cute date early on in their relationship…

_mg_0273.jpg
Then it started to sprinkle rain on us and so we headed for cover … how cute are they???

0256.jpg
Loved Robbie’s shoes.

_mg_0348.jpg

_mg_0400.jpg
Robbie had a little accident shaving earlier that day…so Sharon is being a nurse and reapplying liquid bandage. I love Robbie’s wary expression…and Sharon looks like she likes it. :-)

_mg_0444.jpg
Wouldn’t be a D.C. engagement shoot without some stately looking pillars…right?

_mg_0568.jpg

_mg_0651.jpg

_mg_0677.jpg
Robbie told me that he thought this “the thinker” rabbit was creepy…so I thought, why not run from him in fear? I think they really brought authentic fear. I like it.

_mg_0798bw.jpg
Lastly, we headed to Buffalo Billiards where they had their very first date. I love the moody feel here…like it’s just them.

_mg_1000.jpg
And back on the subway…

_mg_1072.jpg

Robbie and Sharon, thank you so much for such an awesome day! I had a great time and now I can’t wait until your wedding in September!
