Danielle and John have come to be two of my most favorite people. The are incredibly genuine and fun and so easy to work with. I would be thrilled to have 100 couples just like them. So I couldn’t have been more pleased to have had three, count ‘em, THREE portrait sessions for them in addition to their wedding. John must really love her, to go through all that, huh?
This first photo is actually from their “day after session” which we did at Lehigh University’s beautiful campus. I will definitely do a whole post of solely those photos, but for now I promised Danielle a few teasers in their wedding post. So there’s one. I shot both the wedding and all the portrait sessions along with Lauri of Lalee Photography, so I’m sure she’ll have up some fabulous photos of this session soon.
Now get ready, cause this post is gonna be a long one! Since Danielle and John are blog readers, I want to make sure I do their day justice.

When I first showed up to start photographing the getting ready, this is how I found Danielle. Haha. I love it.

Danielle’s mom demanded absolutely no more photos until her makeup was on, so Danielle gave her a little bouquet shield.

I realized when I was going through the photos that I had selected for the blog, that I had A LOT of Danielle laughing. And I don’t mean just little, “hehe” laughs, I mean full on laughs. I think that is a great sign on a wedding day when the bride is relaxed enough to laugh like that.

I don’t know why I like this one, but I do. It looks like she’s making a decree from the bridal throne.

This photo was a special request by Danielle. A few weeks before the wedding, she sent me a scanned in photo of her mom on her wedding day. She said that since she was a little girl, this had been her ideal of bridal beauty, and if it was possible, she would love to have a photo like that of herself on her wedding day. I told her that I’d do my best and this was the result. I hope it lived up to its predecessor.

I love the hustle bustle feel of this one as Danielle rushes down the steps to the ceremony.

Danielle’s first sight of John.

Some wedding shots. It was a beautiful ceremony and reception, both held at the adorable and intimate, Centre Bridge Inn, on the water in New Hope.

I love the way John is looking at Danielle here.

Danielle and her grandmother share a moment.

Love how her mom is beaming at her!

The flash didn’t fire for this one, but I like the mood of it anyway.

Haha! this one cracks me up. Check out the guest in the background here.

This couple for sure lit up the dance floor! I suspect that they might have…possibly…taken some dancing lessons. But that’s just a guess.

Danielle and John decided not to have their own first dance because the idea of all eyes on them didn’t really thrill them. I hear that. But since both of their parents coincidentally had the same wedding song, they did ask the band to play that. Here are John’s parents. I have to admit that I always get a little teary eyed when I see couples who have been together for years dancing. I think it’s so romantic.

…and the equally adorable parents of Danielle…

I took this shot quick from outside and it is all sorts of technically wrong. But it cracks me up and I sort of love it anyway.

And I’ll end where I started…with a day after session teaser. When we were shooting this session Danielle told John not to look at the pictures on the back of the camera and to wait until we post them because then it’s like Christmas. I love that analogy!
More day after coming soon, soon, soon…
