things i like…including Lauri’s hair .

The other day I looked out the window in my living room and the sunset was so incredible, it looked like the street was more or less on fire. I ran upstairs and grabbed my camera. The sun was a bit faster than me, and it had set lower in the sky by the time I made it out, but I still love it. [You will also note that I live under a net of wires. Should I be concerned about this?]

I thought I’d share some music I love. Maybe I’ll do this every once in a while. We’ll see. The Weakerthans are without a doubt my favorite band. I would pair the word love with almost every single one of their songs and I could listen to all their albums on repeat for weeks, maybe months (former roommates will attest to this). I could list about 15 songs of theirs that I would put in contention for my favorite, but since a post of 15 songs might be a bit much, I’ll just share my top pick of the day.

This is None of the Above from the album Fallow. There’s a bit of a wait to get to the music which starts about a minute in. Apparently The Weakerthans were the opening band and this was their encore so you’ll see some dramatic text (with some confusing ellipsis) documenting that. Wait for it though. It’s good. Plus, youtube only gave me a choice between this or the cd version of this song played over the image of a gerber daisy. I think I chose wisely.

Last but not least, Lauri and Mikey were over last night and I had to take a picture of her awesome new hair!!! When she came back from her honeymoon I think she wanted to try something completely different. I think they totally suit her! LOVE THEM!

Alissa & Roman .

So a couple of weeks ago, when Alissa and Roman were in town for Lauri and Mikey’s wedding, I did a little session of the two of them because Alissa asked so nicely. Apparently there is a large blank spot on the wall that is waiting to be filled wiht photos, so I hope some of these will do the job. ;-)

Alissa and Roman have a very romantic story which I will share quickly because I have to run and I know someone really wants to see these. This past New Year’s, Jason and I hosted a party. Alissa was of course coming down from Brooklyn, and Lauri and Mikey asked if it would be okay with us if they brought Mikey’s friend Chris, and his “international friend” Roman. My parties have always had a bring whoever policy, so of course I was good with that. The more the merrier. Well, Roman and Alissa hit it off. But I think everyone thought there was obviously no way anything would come of it…you know…since Alissa lived in Brooklyn and ‘international friend’, Roman, is from Germany and currently goes to school in Arizona. We were all WRONG! Alissa and Roman became friends on facebook (making relationships possible) and then he headed to Brooklyn to visit her for a night before going back to Arizona. From then on they kept in touch while Alissa traveled to Venice, Italy to study for several months and until Alissa graduated from Pratt, got a job and moved to Arizona in July. CRAZY! Roman is a great, great guy. They are perfect together…and I’m so happy for them both!

This session was lots of fun. We explored the Art Museum area and South Street and gave Roman a taste of Philly. I think we got some fun photos too…although it’s hard not to with how cute they are together.

Ending with this one because I LOVE it. :-)

Josie…numero cuatro .

This was my second to last photo session with Josie and I have to say that I am going to miss them. She is a sweet and happy baby and I have enjoyed every second of my sessions with her. This time, she had teeth! How adorable is she?

These next two photos are my favs.

I so love this Curious George/ Josie photo. I know it’s a bit whackadoo…but I think both their pudgy cheeks are adorable. :-)

This little pigtail kills me.

I don’t remember nearly as much bouncing in the crib last time I visited. This time it was all the rage.

okay, maybe this is a favorite too. Someone LOVES getting phone calls. haha.

I think she looks like a little monkey in this one. A cute little monkey.

This is perhaps, “…hmmm…I’m not so sure about this grass stuff…”

…and a little family action.

The next and final session is coming up sooner than I care to admit. So more soon!

For my impatient friend Alissa… .

…a sneak peek. :-)

Can you even believe this is in Center City??? More to come…soonish.
