Lauri & Mikey: The Album .

The other day Lauri asked me if I was ever going to do a post of the last engagement session I did for Lauri and Mikey. I hadn’t been planning on it only because it was after their wedding and somehow it seemed…not right…I don’t know. Anywho, I have changed my mind because Lauri looked so sad when she said “I’ve been waiting for it.” :-)

For their wedding present, I made them a guest sign in book/ engagement album. So I thought I’d just go ahead and share some of the pages here. Also, I am super excited to share this first picture, which didn’t make the cut for the album but I absolutely love. We did the session at Muhlenberg College and spent a little time exploring the art studios. This one makes me laugh.

The signature red doors of Muhlenberg. I love that Lauri wore red. Too perfect.

Oh, except when she changed into her brown dress for these few. This is the very bench where Lauri and Mikey got engaged. They’re so adorable.

This series is just very Lauri. The open mouth excited pose is sort of her thing. This is obviously from the winter session, but I wanted to share it anyway because these weren’t posted before. :-)

The close up version of this photo cracks me up. The sun was so bright that poor Lauri and Mikey were squinting horribly. It’s funny, but not exactly engagement sign in book material.

HOT!

Love this series.

…and one more photo that didn’t make the cut. I think it’s hot. I hope the man painting in the studio didn’t mind the couple making out by the sink. :-)

Lauri and Mikey…it was soooo much fun doing all these sessions with you. Can’t wait for the ‘day after’ session. ;-)

More Music and Sharon and Robbie Preview .

So…I have done a really bad job of blogging, huh? And I had been doing so well for so long. Anyway, happily I will have plenty to blog about soon since I’ve been pretty busy with the whole photography thing. After shooting a beautiful wedding with Lauri on Friday, I shot another beautiful wedding on Saturday. I don’t think I would have picked any other wedding to get up at 5:30am and shoot. :-)

Robbie and Sharon and just so much FUN. I will have lots to say about their wedding, but it shall have to wait. For now I just wanted to share this one photo. I don’t think Sharon could look any happier and aren’t the colors just awesome?

Eh hm…since I haven’t posted in a while, I thought I’d share another song that I periodically obsess over. This song comes with the bonus of a commercial that I think is really beautiful. I know…a commercial? But really, I’ve probably watched this video more than 20 times since I discovered it a few years ago and I can’t say that about any other commercials. I swear! You may have seen it before, I’m sure I’m not the only one who has. But if you have…appreciate again…

and if you prefer…the original [I didn't watch this whole video, just saw the beginning with the skateboarders. So if something inappropriate happens at some point that is offensive, I apologize.]

Ansley: Senior Session .

So, last weekend I spent the morning with Ansley and we had an awesome time at Ridley Creek State Park exploring and picture taking. Ansley is originally from upstate New York where senior sessions like this are all the rage. That is unlike here where the cap and gown with a rose smiling politely into the camera is more what we expect from senior sessions. I would post my cap and gown with a rose photo…but seriously, it’s too frightening. I love these kinds of shoots and we just had such a good time.

I’m just posting a few of my favorites here. I had a hard time narrowing down my selection because the girl is just too photogenic. :-) Ah, wouldn’t we all just die for that problem. We explored the mansion and the gardens and this cool overgrown field. Oh…and can we just take a moment to check out that first photo? Doesn’t Ansley look like an old Hollywood actress? That’s what it makes me think of. Lovely.

I loved these trees and Ansley did too…so we hung out there for a bit.

Then we headed over to these gardens with the climbing flowers. Ansley could probably tell you what sort of flowers these are because gardening is one of her many interests. I on the other hand…cannot. :-)

We all thought this was so cool (Ansley, her mom and I). We found this perfect spiderweb and decided to incorporate it into a few. Ansley and her sister were “nature detectives” (I think I got that right) when they were younger, so this seemed fitting.

I love that at this age you’re in between child and adult. I think this is a grown up one.

I told Ansley that if I posted from this series I’d give her full credit because it was her idea to shoot in this little nook. I think it worked out pretty nicely.

How awesome is the lighting?

Now on to my favorites…the field. Sigh…I just loved the lighting and the whimsical feeling. I couldn’t pick my favorite, so here are quite a few.

Doing some reading.

Let me just say…this grass was wet! Ansley didn’t care and was all about laying down in the grass and getting these shots. I’m so so so glad she did because these are some of my favorite. Something so classic about this one. I love the detail of the pearl bracelet.

I love this one because it looks like a moment, not posed, just living. :-)

Thank you Ansley for letting me be your senior photographer. YOU are magical.

A Macaroni .

It has been brought to my attention that while I have had two posts dedicated to my cat Angry, I have no posts for Mac. This is Mac, or Macaroni. When I took this picture, Mac was much more interested in whatever the neighbor was cooking on her grill than me and my camera. I like it though…I think he has a certain woodsy ruggedness…with a twist of James Brown. :-)

I also thought I would go ahead and post this photo from long ago when I lived next to my brother and he would abandon his dogs in my apartment regularly. This is Katja who is the sweetest most lovely Rottweiler ever. I love her. She is an avid tv watcher, and she particularly enjoys any programs with animals. The only problem is, she tries to eat them off the tv and that can get a bit messy. hehe.
